Grafted grape plants – Protection against diseases
Fungal diseases affecting grapevine are recognized as a major threat to the long-term sustainability of viticulture across the world.
One of the methods to control grapevine pests and diseases is HWT – Hot Water Treatment or Thermotherapy. A common protocol is to soak the planting material in water heated to kill pathogens like Xylella Fastidiosa and Flavescence Dorée phytoplasma. Beside for grafted grapevine plants, HWT can be used for dormant plant material such as cuttings and rootstocks.
This treatment is considered an economic and environmentally friendly alternative to chemical treatments for sanitation and quarantine purposes.
Our certified grafted grape plants are the result where tradition meets technology.
