Columnar Fruit Trees

COLUMNAR FRUIT TREES – VERTICAL GROWING, DELICIOUS RESULTS

Columnar fruit trees, also known as Pillar or Cordon fruit trees, are specially trained to grow vertically with short lateral branches. Typically reaching 2–2.5 m in height and only 50–70 cm in width, their slim, vertical growth makes them perfect for small gardens, terraces, or along walls.

Despite their compact size, columnar fruit trees are highly productive, offering abundant fruits.

Columnar Fruit Trees - Compact Trees for Small Spaces

Apples are the most well-known columnar fruit trees, but in recent years, other fruits such as sweet cherries, pears, plums, peaches, and nectarines have also been successfully cultivated in the compact, upright columnar form.

Growing columnar fruit trees on terraces is a perfect solution for gardeners with limited space who still want to enjoy homegrown fruit, turning a small terrace into a productive and attractive mini-orchard.
